Photos: Reaching out the Matigsalug Kids

I used to work in a photoshop store. I cant find my heart in it so i quit my job. I always love to travel, exploring new places meet new people merge with them and learn something new.

As a mountaineer I've been in our country's remote places. Along our journey we saw how beautiful wild places are. We saw how simple people's life in the mountains so as their struggles and mostly affected are children. Til then we made every climb purposeful, we believe that education is a tool towards a better life. In every remote public schools, villages, we give the children school kits. It became our advocacy and mountain climbing became a side trip including photography. But in every frame you've taken, an important moment is preserved which can be an important part of history. Nowadays photography becomes overrated, almost everyone wants to travel wants to be known, i guess i am too.

Maybe the only difference between me and other aspiring travel photographers is i have nothing but having nothing could be an advantage because you'll learn how to make the best of everything.

This is my second attempt in entering this great opportunity to be mentored by Jason Edwards, hoping for my luck.

Photos: Birhin "Virgin" and the modest life of the locals

I'm a passionate photography hobbyist, an outdoor enthusiast, a mountaineer. I love to travel a lot. I always dream to become a travel photographer, I want it, i love it and that's what i wanna do in life.

I want this scholarship not only because I'll become an excellent travel photographer, not because of money I can get if I become one, not for title or fame. I'm someone who’s always hungry and passionate for adventure, travel, loves to explore new places, always want to learn new things and I want to see the world differently. I take pictures through my heart and I always want to go deeper into the techniques and art of photography. Photography is me, It’s an intense passion of my life, I can imagine myself as an old man still clicking the shutter and never get enough of it, it satisfies my soul. I love learning new things, learn from different people and see beauty everywhere. Be it simple or an exotic place, there's beauty and art, even in a simplest form of life or objects; life is an art form itself, that’s how I define photography. I want depth in every photograph i take. If given an opportunity to become the chosen aspirant travel photographer it’ll be a dream come true.
