Photos: Graveyard art

I don't understand what is so scary in graveyards. They are so calm places, as they should be... Every culture have their kind of burial ceremony and as well monuments. Like it or not - making it was kind of art. Those you see are Serbian Ortodox monuments.

This is one of most famous catholic monastery near Mostar. Nearby between Mostar and Međugorje is replica of typical village from Herzegovina, but my camera decided to betray me... But it is worth visiting, don't miss chance.

Photos: World of small creatures

Aren't they wonderful? So simple, so small and yet ... Complex and fascinating. I wonder what would happen to the world, say that spiders were size of a dog? Would they be our pets or people would have more to worry about? In any case, they are unique, no mather if they are ugly to somebody or not - they deserve our respect and admiration.
Most of these images is photographed in Bosnia and Serbia. For more exciting details download pictures and zoom. I tried to point out some details, and you may get better view like that. No insect died during sesions. :D

My Photo scholarship 2011 entry

Yeah I would like to win... But greater satisfaction for me would be if I make you interested in Bosnia. This country is beautiful, people, animals, nature and culture are unique... As you can see on first two pictures there is still scars from recent civil war. While I taking them I am standing, belive me or not, on border line between two entinties. You can see beautiful mosque and church, and there is a building spot for new cathedral nearby. It is nice having such a capital city with so many religious and historical buildings, but do we really need new ones when people must live in these ruins? But yet, this city is somekind of big museum. One step in this city literaly means time travel. Third picture is taken in front of modern hotel ,,Europa”. There, you can see reimains of old fort, and clock-tower ,,Sahat-Kula”. All that is part of famous Bash-charshia – there is no living Bosnian who doesn’t know for this marketplace, from period when Otomans claimed this city as its own. And for last two I will say just this - Jewel of Sarajevo, national park ,,Vrelo Bosne” (“Spring of Bosnia”). Breathtaking isnt it? And I would be happy to send you all my photos of this city if you find those interesting... 5 is just not enough.
I think there is no greater joy for photographer, than when he notice that someone enjoys, and more important, understands his work. I want to see all that world can offer me and show others my vision of it. But first, I must learn how.

Photos: Canyon Gracanica

Little river Grachanica has carved its way through the Herzegovina stone, creating a unique and beautiful scenery. In places where stone was softer, the river made bit larger cavities, where in the summer gathers a large number of people from nearby city of Gacko to be refreshed. We went a little further searching for the spring... I will not comment much ...
