I am finding out that you don't have to be rich to travel. Who knew?

My plan is to be a tourist for a month, travel Italy, France and wherever else the wind takes me. After that find a place to settle down and volunteer myself in exchange for accomadations.

A great place to find opportunities is http://www.helpx.net/index.asp as i have already been invited to stay for a month at a wonderful place near Lake Como overlooking the Swiss Alps. Sounds dreadful i know :) This is a place where a couple live with thier 3 daughters and welcome many HelpX travelers. They live simply in the mountains, make there own cheese, jams and raising thier own food. I am super excited to learn about sustainable living, as well as local language and culture.
