Canada: Lake Huron Storm

Went storm chasing: found one! While out on one of my many adventures, a sunny walk on the beach turned more dramatic as the storm moved in. The alarming fall in the lake’s water level made me realize that I was seeing climate change in action.

A 'place' I have visited

Born 1963, Ottawa, Canada.
Certificate in Advertising & Graphic Design, Humber College, Toronto.
After college I worked in retail advertising for 15 years at agencies in Toronto, including Typesettra. When desktop publishing took over, I traded my shiny shoes for work boots and went outdoors.
I rediscovered my love for photography through landscaping work and time in the US and Canadian wilderness.
Now I work in social services as a building operator. Environments are important: this work allows me to ensure the most vulnerable people in our community have a safe and comfortable living environment.
I'm shooting the landscape of Southern Ontario and planning a trip to Algonquin Park to follow the footsteps of Tom Thomson, my favourite painter.
It's every photographer's dream to work for National Geographic. The magazine's pages are the gold standard of natural images.
I want the adventure of visiting Greenland: water and icescapes are so important to our future and as Al Gore said, icebergs are the canaries in the environmental coal mine.
I want to document disappearing landscapes to stimulate public activism. Images are powerful and we need powerful action before it's too late.
