My Scholarship entry - A 'place' I have visited

My name is Shifna and I’m from Sri Lanka. Until last year I never realized my true potential. My family has sacrificed a lot for 22years to bring me to place where I now stand. Within these years, I have been given the freedom to explore the world in order to satisfy my curiosity toward all the strange and wonderful things in the world around me.
I study sociology and psychology at my university and so I’m interested in different cultures and how the relationship between people and society. Until last year I have been making little efforts to shoot pictures as of my desire. I understood how important it is to capture a moment than to randomly click the camera away. I never studied photography but worked my way with camera I still have a lot more to learn and understand the techniques of photography to really capture the moment. I consider my self as an amateur photographer and I’m willing to accept more challenges and adventures and so explore the society and the world through photography.
