Not much to tell really - we spent a long lazy time just hanging around in Dahab which is on the eastern side of the Sinai Peninsular - across the gulf (and the red sea) is Saudi Arabia.
The first day's weather was lovely and warm with little wind - ideal for snorkelling but since then it has been overcast and very windy. We took the snorkelling gear back to the shop the second day because it just wasn't worth it. It rained the next day - not heavily but on and off for a few hours. Apparently this is very rare. We had been told that nearly all of the water here is trucked in. And today which will be our last day here it is fine and pleasant
Tim did some windsurfing course - which required quite a long walk south to the resort hotels where lessons were available. Tim signed up for an intro course of two sessions over two consecutive days - each for an hour and a half. The first one went well though there was little wind. By the end of the second day he was standing up and turning around.
Julian has been burning the midnight oil - late night bars and then sleeping until the afternoon. Lunch, a couple of hours on the Internet then ready to go out again. He took an Intro dive on the last day and enjoyed it.
I've just been hanging around, sitting at various cafes and beaches reading my book (Sons and Lovers - DH lawrence) which I have now finished. Tim and I went snorkelling today at the same place they went the other day. Beautiful healthy coral and many colourful fish. I don't do very well with restricted air - but got used to it as the time passed and enjoyed it. We have tickets for the 10:00pm bus and will spend tonight in transit.
