Photos: My Scholarship entry - A 'place' I have visited

My name is David Broida and I am a 21 year old college senior studying International Business and Chinese language. 3 years ago I bought a DSLR and I have been a passionate photographer ever since. The past 2 years I studied in China for a total of 8 months. During that time I had the opportunity to travel throughout China, Laos, Cambodia and the Philippines. In the past 3 years my camera has gradually broken down untilI reaching its last day in Manila. Getting on assignment to travel and take photos is my dream and after finishing school I plan on moving to China and traveling throughout Asia. I am addicted to traveling, now is a rare period of my life when I am capable of doing it. I have never been presented with any opportunities to experience the middle east. I have also never taken a photography class and think that shadowing and learning from the best is the best way to learn.
I like travel photography for many reasons but the most powerful photos to me are people in their element whatever that may be. I attempt to capture locals being themselves and I hope that you can see that in my pictures. Choose me because I am a talented photographer anxious to learn and travel.
