Aizeney.

Arts, Crafts and food night in Aizenay which is about 10mins away. They closed off a street and had strange street artists performing, you had Katy with the strange dress, moped and blow up catipiller. Band of musicians that were superb, one of them kept pulling out a cube of something and lighting it, the cube then gave off differant coloured smoke and a nice smell. The weirdest one of all was the bloke with a tv screen made out of an orange box, this was mounted on a stick, he would look through it and commentate on what was going on. Now for the food, we had hot pita bread baked in a wood fired oven then filled with goats cheese, really nice. Abbie had one filled with chocolate spread although she only liked the spread. We have bought a Quail that was cooked on an open fire for our tea. We have just tried it and wish we had bought more than one as they are quite small.

Anyway there are more photos on the link on the right.

Today we went to mini golf in Apremont. First we went to the bakers and got some cakes and had breakfast in the woods near the river. The first hole was a bit of a shock, as the ball went towards it a lizard came out of the hole and ran off ino the bushes. Anyway as expected i won.

In one of the german u-boat pens there is a french 1950's submarine that was in service for 25years. we were allowed to have a tour around the submarine and it was brilliant, evan Abbie enjoyed it can't imagine being onboard with 65 men though. Once again we wern't allowed to take photos onboard so click this link to see more,

Mothers daughter decided after scaring the rotwieller away at the vine yard she was hungary and only a Mcdonalds would do which led to an hour search for the golden arches. To be fair it was a really nice lunch, the only disapointment was that we did'nt know we could of had our meal with beer instead of coke.

Vineyard adventure

Decided to try and find a vine yard so we could fill up a gallon container from a tap in a wall for 1 euro like we have seen many times on tv. Trying to find one in the country well known for wine is impossible. After an hour and a half of trying to find one that tom knew about we gave up. Luckly james saw a sign at the side of the road so we followed the farm lane and found one. Wasn't the 1000 acre's of vines set on a hillside that we had imagined, instead he had 4 acres next to a road. But it really was a pleasant suprise.

He bought the vine yard 2 years ago but the vines were 20 years old.

After James and i (sarah to scared of the big dog) looked around the vines we all tried the red, white, rose and the kids grape juice, funny how when free wine is offered the fear of dogs disappears.

The wine was very good so we bought a rose and the kids grape juice.
