San Diego, California

Hey!!! We are now in the States and we now see the huge change after 5 months spent in Mexico... So weird to be here, especially for me (Damien), I came here in 2001, with Charles and a lot of souvenirs come back to me since we arrived.

First day we found this wonderful brand new backpacker where we booked 2 nights. We were so happy to sleep in correct bed compared to our last hotel in Mexico City which stinked a lot and surounded of rude people...

Anyway we walked around the city and took a trolley and bus to Mission Beach and Pacific Beach where we used to work with Charles... we spent the afternoon crying in front of the huge amount of clothes and shoes we could buy if we had money :)

At night we went to the best Sushi Place in the world. But when I say the best... trust me that's the best ever and ever and the cheapest too.
We had so many sushis that night, we are planning to go back to San Diego especially to have this food once again ! That's a shame that we didn't take the camera to make pictures 'cause you would have been amazed by the size of the plate...

Anyway, after few hours spent in San Diego we we hesitating between saving money and take a bus to San Francisco... or spend a bit more and rent a car to go up the coast. We finally decided to rent this car and in looking at the map we thought about having a small road trip before going to SF... so we planned to go first to Los Angeles and spend a night, then Las Vegas to spend the second night and the going to SF !!!!!

So we left on Wednesday morning with our brand new automatic car to Los Angeles !! Then begins the Californian trip....

Tijuana, trying to cross the border to the States

We arrived after 3 hours flight from Mexico City in Tijuana. We knew that we didn't have the right paper to get out of the country and Pierre didn't know if he was allowed to enter in the States because he over stayed last time he went to New York...

So we got out of the plane, and the first barage asked us for the paper we didn't have... we explained the situation and the girl was so nice she just told us to try to have it next time :))

First barage passed, we took a bus ticket to cross the border... I can tell you that I was really stressed because I didn't know if we were able to cross the border, if Pierre will be allowed to enter in the states... It could have changed completely the futur of our world trip!!

Anyway we arrived at the amercian border, we were blocked and asked for a special paper... so we had to come back to an office and fill the famous green form where they ask you if you are part of a terorist organisation... The form filled we went to the desk and they ask us some basic questions, we had to give them our fingerprints... and they put the fucking stamp in our passeport and we had the "Authorisation granted" paper in our passeport !!
All this stress for that !! We went back to cross the border, they let us passed without any problem and we caught back the bus directly to San Diego !!!!

That was time to say Adios to Mexico and welcome to the United States of America and San Diego, our first visited city in the States...

Hey hey, I take few seconds to update this page with some of our last stops in Mexico.

We left Puerto Escondido with a night bus to go to Mexico City and arrived on the morning on the hotel "Amigo" straight in the city center.

To be honest this hotel wasn't that good and all the people were not that friendly but we didn't care and spent few days visiting the city before taking the plane to Tijuana and try to cross the border to the States.

Mexico City is the biggest city in the world (in competition with Tokyo) so I can tell you that's a crouded city ! We took the subway around 6pm and that was the worst experience ever... everyone was screaming and pushing to get in or out of the subway... Plus we were the only strangers in this city... apparently no one visits Mexico city 'cause everyone says it's too dangerous. That's why we were watched by everysingle mexican in the street as if we were curious animal coming from another planet... especially our Norvegian friends, blond hair, blue eyes... they were the best attraction for mexicans in the city.

Anyway, we went to the Museum of Antropologia and we walked around the city for a couple of days and I let you check the pictures, that's better to give you the idea ;)

Puerto Escondido

Wow... I don't even know from where to begin... A lot happened here in Puerto Escondido...
We didn't see any ruins or waterfalls or whatever but we met so many people and so many awesome people from almost everywhere...
We arrived after 12 hours bus here in Puerto Escondido and after a brief decision we came down to the MayFlower Hotel, where we got a room for the traditional 100 pesos a night.

The first night was the craziest ever ! We started to party into the hotel with all those people playing drinking games and singing on every single song.. that was a hell of a night !
Then we went out to a kind of an outside club where we danced until 4 in the morning...

The day after a lot of people have to leave but some staid and we exchanged so many experiences during these few days in the MayFlower.
This place is such a special place, everyone is supposed to stay here one or two nights and they finally stay for more than 2 weeks !! We were actually supposed to stay here for 2 days and we've been sticked to this place for a week now... Oh we went for 2 days in Mazunte, a wondderful and unique place that we will count you in the following story .... Enjoy our photos !!!!!!!!!!!
