Leo - The little teacher

Since I was a child I have worked with the poetry of music to convey feelings. In the last 5 years I have been working on my DSLR photography, & in the last 3 years with videography, learning how to capture and develop the poetry of light. In studios, on the streets, forests & undergrounds of different environments. I made a conscious decision to only work with a 50mm lens for this whole 5 year period, to get to know the camera from a human perspective - If I wanted to get closer to something or someone to capture them visually with my camera I had to move my body close to them, & to mould my body to the situation - on the floor, against the wall, in the dirt, learning to read the light. I've learned to dance with my 50mm lens..

Now I need to learn from a really good dancer. A mentor who knows the reasons for choosing different lenses & ways of using them in different conditions for different reasons - grounding my understanding of how these technical choices affect the way a story in pictures is ultimately understood. This will also greatly help my understandings of the relationships between light and sound.

I love learning about different cultures in the setting of home. For a nearly 2 years Sasha from Venezuela lived with me in Melbourne. She's like a sister to me. She moved to Bogota. To be able to travel to Colombia, be mentored in an artform I am passionate about, be part of sharing culture & stories, & given the chance to see my soul sister - A dream come true!!
