Photos: My Scholarship entry - Costa Rica pura vida

Peru has always been one of my biggest dreams. Just a week before I was supposed to visit it, I got really sick and had to cancel my trip. I remember having Peru posters on my wall when everyone else had male music bands on. I am obsessed with nature, animals and archaeological sites so much I could spend hours just trying to get one single shot. The last time I spent 4 months in Costa Rica in the jungle surrounded with wildlife and could not be happier. I would love to learn how to become a better nature photographer to fulfill my biggest dream. The Peruvian Amazon would be a huge challenge for me but I believe that getting out of my comfort zone is the best thing one can do to move forward and become a better and a stronger person.

Photos: My Photo scholarship 2011 entry

I am Alex, a crazy girl who lives for photography and travel. I quit my job of cabin crew in March to do what I love the most - travel the world and photograph it. I am very adventurous, I go where I should not, take a risk just to take a good photo and see as much as possible. I lie on the edge of the mountains, do skydiving, paragliding, go close to wild animals just to get the best pictures. I am an insomniac, so photographing and writing at night or morning is what I do permanently. I want to take the chance to learn how to be good at travel photography as I'd like to devote my life to it.
I want to learn how to take amazing photos and not how to be a good Photoshop user. So even the photos I uploaded for this scholarship are the originals, no cropping, no changing anything.
I want to show people I can be good not just in front of a camera as a model, but be better behind it as a photographer.
I run a travel blog at www.crazysexyfuntraveler.com and I think it would be a great opportunity not only for me, but to promote National Geographic, World Nomads, Gap Adventures, South Africa tourism and the photographer Jason as I could write about my experience there as well.
