My Photo scholarship 2010 entry

My photos equally depict a time in my life that I learned something new whether it was about life or photography. In each of my photos I try to capture the mood and lighting of the place I took them. Two were taken in England. Both times I was freely backpacking in Old England while capturing the essence of high society London and the natural beauty of Oxford. Another photo is simply of a log in the midst of tall grass. The story lies in the sunset lighting casted between the grass. I often go to beaches for peace. At times I could not get through a day without the memory of the beach . My fourth photo is of a dandelion. It may not be the most beautiful flower, but the color I captured this photo gives it a setting of a fairy-like world, which I so deeply admire. My last photo is of a zebra in the zoo. I took the picture in hopes that it would show the zebra in its natural habitat. I chose this picture because it is apart of nature and myself. I love animals, especially wild animals that try and create a world beyond humans. Animals show the natural way to live, on instinct and desire. My photos I have chosen may not be the best in the world, but they are depictions of my life and what I live for, while showing the world in different light. The light is my friend. I believe the lighting of a photo gives the photo life, which is what determines whether people like it or relate to it. I have been very constricted to the photos I have been able to take compared to other photographers, and if I had the chance to travel to the one of the most naturally beautiful places in regards of people and nature, it could give me a chance to gain more experience with photography and life; in hopes to share that with the rest of the world I would capture every moment with a flash!
