Home

Romania is my home, always, can't imagine myself not having a house here... I was away for about 9 month and I missed it like hell.. I like to travel in Romania, even though there is still much work to be done with the country roads... but the places to see are worth the while... in a way it's good not to have good roads, it means we can still see places in their natural form... but not for long... I still have to visit the Danube Delta, Dobrogea, Maramures and the Apuseni Mountains... a lot actually... but the places I've already seen are magic... I come from the South-East of the country, Drobeta, first mentioned historically about 2000 years ago, there are still the remains of the bridge built by teh Romans around 102 a.d. and teh castrum as well...

Planning

It's always important to plan ahead when visiting another country, especiallu one non EU country of a different religion. Even with my extended planning I still missed on certain aspects. I bought a guide, I checked Internet for travel agencies, flight tickets, hotels, what NOT TO DO when in Tunisia, stuff like that... the reality of course was far from what I expected, and I am used to poor infra and superstructure countries, trust me. I'm from Romania.

The flight was OK, although we took off at 3 am... and with a company we've never heard of... The service was OK, nothing spectacular however... I am kind of used to TAROM service, surprisingly better that Austrian Airlines and Lufthansa...

Landing was OK... but then we got to the hotel... this is another story and I'll tell it tomorrow...
