My Scholarship entry - A 'place' I have visited

I'm a 33 year old female from the Uk. I trained in visual merchandising before going on into the arts. I now work as a props supervisor for theatre and opera and the love for everything visual runs through my entire being.
I have no photography quals, although I do have darkroom experience from my art foundation. I now use a digital SLR, but have a major dislike for HDR. A photograph should be printed as it was taken.
I have a desire for adventure and have travelled alone to north Morocco, Southern Africa and Budapest (all on the hunt for texture!).
I would truly love to be a travel photographer and am used to long working, irregular hours and working in an industry which is thought to be glamorous.
A place on the scholarship would give me a true understanding of the profession, something that I am lacking is the understanding of how to act as a photographer. I like to go unnoticed when I'm 'working'. I'm a very sociable person, but when I take photographs I get absorbed by the camera. Seeing how Jason goes about his work would be absolutely invaluable to me. I've probably got a lot more to learn than I realise – so, here I am, ready to learn it!
