Roatan - Diving Fun in the Sun

so been on Roatan for about 5 weeks now and quickly heading for the end of the 6th week! it has fairly flown by and starting to think i need to get out of here soon otherwise I could end up stuck here for another couple of months!

so what have I been doing - well the reason for coming here was diving and that's basically what I've been doing - lots of fun diving and my scuba instructor course so now I'm qualified to teach diving which is pretty exciting! now what do do with that!

well got lucky here and managed to get a short term jobbie to help out teaching diving at a kids camp at one of the resorts on the island. good fun and fun people there so its all good. gets me a couple of quid in my pocket to so thats a nice change to have some money coming in for the first time in a couple of months!

what else, well its been pretty quiet - not much other than diving, drinking, partying and diving and drinking - you get the general idea! whole bunch of trainee divemasters at the shop where i dive so there are generally lots of people for drinks!

so that's about it from me - not much to tell so will fill you in when i manage to get out of here - hopefully next week. planning on heading to Leon in Nicaragua next so any tips would be appreciated!

My first stop in Guatemala and its been great! not real guatemala by any account but a nice gentle start to travelling and backpacking in central america. 3 nights in an old colonial town has been fun but the highlight was definitely the one night hiking up and camping near the top of Pacaya - an active volcano near Antigua. It was amazing sitting up on the side of the volcano in the dark watching the volcano spit hot rocks and lava down the side of the mountain - awesome!
