My entry to the 2010 Travel Video Scholarship was inspired by traditional adventure stories where the main character starts with a simple destination and lets the wind guide his sails.

With this is mind, I didn't plan much of my journey, and thus the film I made along the way, except to say that I needed to be in Germany in August for a music festival, otherwise I went wherever instinct told me while bowing to time and money where necessary.

I faced many challenges, not only in terms of filming in certain places but also putting myself in dangerous positions. I experienced highs and lows, I spent some time living like a king and I spent some time with nothing after being mugged in Barcelona.

My ambitions as a documentary maker is to help people discover amazing and interesting things without having to spend a fortune travelling the world, as well as to bring to light places, things and people that the the world should know about and/or experience.

I enjoyed making this film more than I've enjoyed anything a very long time and I've discovered something I never knew I was so passionate about.
