My Video scholarship 2010 entry

Nepal 2010 - A country and its people
As I love to go hiking and rock climbing I had to see the highest mountains in the world with my own eyes. Another fact was that I'd never heard much about Nepal, neither in the news nor in school and so it was basically a blank spot on the map for me.
For some reason I took my film camera with me...just in case I thought...and it worked out perfectly. So I never really planned this documentary as I didn't know what was going to happen. I just captured real life situations and what happened to me on my journey through the mountains of Nepal. Filming wasn't easy as it was very cold up in the mountains and we had winds of about 30-40 knots blowing away my tripod and my female companion ;-) Still worse were diarrhea and slippery snow fields next to huge canyons dropping down a couple of hundred meters.
My ambition as a documentary maker is to explore what secrets are still out there and show them to the world. Inform people about situations in far away countries, meet interesting and different people and experience other countries and cultures.
