Borneo adventure

Could my childhood dream come true? Could I learn from professionals on a real and exciting assignment! Will people see photographs of the Amazon through my eyes? As a child, the pages of National Geographic inspired me to travel. I love travel and the wonders of Nature! I love photographs! I love new experiences, new perspectives on life from different cultures and also learning what people throughout the World share.
I’ve been fortunate to follow my passion for travel by working in places like Papua New Guinea, Norway, Nigeria and New Zealand, but so far, I have only taken photographs as a hobby. At school and while travelling, I experimented most keenly with SLR photography in pre-digital days, learning to position myself and edit as much as possible before taking a shot! I now enjoy the luxuries of digital photography! I want to start a new career in photography. There could be no better way than to learn from the best on a real assignment! I love jungle and would love to visit the World's greatest! I have introduced my children to the wider world with the National Geographic magazine. If only I could show them my photographs in it!
Photos: My Scholarship entry - A 'place' I have visited

Could my childhood dream come true? Could I learn from professionals on a real and exciting assignment! Will people see photographs of Oman through my eyes? As a child, the pages of National Geographic inspired me to travel. I love travel and the wonders of Nature! I love photographs! I love new experiences, new perspectives on life from different cultures and also learning what people throughout the World share.
I’ve been fortunate to follow my passion for travel by working in places like Papua New Guinea, Norway, Nigeria and New Zealand, but so far, I have only taken photographs as a hobby. At school and while travelling, I experimented most keenly with SLR photography in pre-digital days, learning to position myself and edit as much as possible before taking a shot! I now enjoy the luxuries of digital photography, although I only have a modest camera. The Canon professional DSLR camera included in the prize would be fantastic!
I have never yet tried to gain financially from photography. After a career break, and with my children now in secondary school, I want to start a career in photography. There could be no better way than to learn from the best on a real assignment!
