Butter and your buns

So I'm finally here! Thank God! What a long day with 3 different flights in total! My eyeballs are dry as hell and I haven't been this tired in quite some time. Luckily I got to Bangkok at Midnight, so get right into the sleep cycle. My shuttle for my guesthouse was waiting for me so it was a pretty smooth transistion. Always, always, always arrange your first night in a foreign country! Makes life so much easiler!!

Flights were uneventful but I learned something today. United airlines DOES NOT edit sex scenes for their flights!! I was watching this one movie during one of my meals and as I'm making small talk to the little elderly Japanese man next to me, I see his eyes go to my screen. Yup, there it was. Nothing but T&A all over my scene. To say it was awkward is an understatement. Do I ignore it, change the channel? I think I was 3 shades of red. I decided to try to ignore it and ask him if he was going to use his butter. Apprently I now needed extra butter for the second serving of buns in my area. I was a little more mindful of my movie choices after that.

Had some great conversations with rowmates on all flight. Chatted with a 23 year old from Ohio who is currently living in South Korea teaching English for 2 years and another woman moving to Bangkok with her 2 toddlers. He husband works for Haliburton. I can't imaging having to move with kids here! She's got her work cut out for her!

But all in all great flights. And a little time in Japan to boot! Did make me sad that I wasn't moving there but excited to visit just the same.

Okay, have to go to bed. Hope you are all well and I'm excited to be here!!

Okay, so many people have requested me to write a blog when I travel due to thier entertainment at my expense. The world is a grand beautiful place, but also a great dose of reality and frustration at times! What better way to entertain you all than giving me a place to vent and document my plight of my own making. So here we are!

I will try and write as much as I can as I stumble along, but hope to maybe inspire some of you to throw off the shackles of comfort, spread those unused wings and grow beyond yourself to appreciate the world around you.

So as I sit here at SFO waiting for my flight to Narita, Japan, I wonder about the road ahead. I'm sure there will be stories to tell, and will hopefully entertain you in doing it.

Here's to travel, and the beautiful bumpy ride it is....
