Taking A Leap

Well, in four days I will be officially unemployed! Such a scary thought not knowing when or where I will find a job but knowing that I am about to live my life long dream of traveling to Africa is overwhelming.

I will take off Friday afternoon and drive down to San Diego where I will spend time with my boyfriend and friends before taking off for New York City! I will be staying with a childhood friend in NYC for a week. I have never been there before and can not wait to explore the entire city!

Then on Oct. 17th I will fly to Tanzania, Africa where the real adventure will begin. I will be staying in a hostel in Arusha, Tanzania. I will be introduced to several grass root projects around Arusha and then I will choose which project I want to volunteer for. I most likely will be working with children and teaching but I will have to wait to see when I get there as to which project I connect with the most and which ones need the most help. I will be in Africa for two months before heading to London!

I will be staying with friends that Blaire and I met on our Europe trip in 2007. Very excited to see the sites as I have never been to London. I will be spending Christmas with their family in London which is very exciting.

Then Dec. 29th I will be flying back to San Diego to start my life back in real world and to get a job to save for the next travel adventure :)

I want to share all my experience, stories, and pictures with all my friend and family. I will try to update this blog once a week and keep everyone updated.
