Photos: My Scholarship entry - Before they wake

Throughout my travels across Europe and Southeast Asia, my shooting style has tended to be from a distance; indicative of my being comfortably introverted.

Getting nicely acquainted with my Kiev4 rangefinder, I have slowly learnt my different levels of comfort in capturing certain intimacies without being invasive - traversing the Peruvian Amazon will help to not only build on this in a different context, but to grow and evolve both as a human and as a lover of photography.

I am infinitely intrigued by the ways in which individuals churn knowledge in their minds to come to their own understanding of how the world works; capturing how this is enacted, expressed, experienced and lived is what drives me to pick up a camera and shoot. Though I work well with the limited technical skills of both film and digital photography that are self-taught, Jasons' expertise and mentoring coupled with my experience of the Amazon will help to increase my practical knowledge ten-fold ...and then some.
