Nepal : In and Out of Civilisation

I'm a 19 year old from Australia. This year I did a Semester of University studying a Bachelor of Laws/Bachelor of Music, and then quickly decided that I needed more time to think about what I wanted to study and discover my passions. I went travelling in Nepal and while I was there I rediscovered my love of photography and adventure. I would love the chance to learn from the best. At the moment I'm a keen amateur who loves to take a lot of snaps but I know there is so much scope for me to learn about equipment, shot set up, editing, and everything else that should be considered.

At the moment I am driven to travel and take photos by my love of capturing things which often go unseen and which many people don't have time to stop and wait for. I find a deep satisfaction when I take these photographs as it is as if I have uncovered a treasure or found something rare.

As well as photography I love the outdoors - particularly trekking, swimming, and rock climbing. I think the World Nomads Travel Scholarship would combine both of these passions of mine, and if I were to win, may help me to eventually begin a career as a travel photographer, which I view as an ideal profession.
