I have a deep and constant feeling of wanderlust and an urge to get out and do bigger and better things in the world. In 2012, at 18 years old, I left the UK unaccompanied, travelling light and headed to Malawi. My plan was to try and make a difference, even if it was just to one person's life. Little did i know it was them who would be changing my life. I volunteered working in schools and orphanages and the hospitality i received in their country was outstanding for how little they have. I returned in 2013 to work with a missionary hospital and photograph the facilities they have there. Unfortunately, i could not afford to go back this year so instead i set up an exhibition of my malawi images raising awareness and collecting donations to send back to the school i previously worked at to ensure they get workbooks and stationary as right now they have none. I think i should be chosen as i have so much passion for travel and photography and this would be an absolute dream come true for me.
