My Scholarship entry - A 'place' I have visited

In 2009 I graduated in Media, Specialising in Photography. Experimenting with different genres, I found my true passion lies in documentary and travel photography. My love for travel has led me on an amazing trip. Starting in Vietnam, I am now traveling Australia, and hope to see more of the world before heading home. There is nothing I love more than capturing the very essence of a place by portraying expressions of culture, lifestyles and the colours that set alight and create an atmosphere of a place. Having this opportunity would fulfill my dream and be a great insight in pursuing a career in travel photography. I am motivated by learning and believe there is much to achieve in the art of travel photography. I wish to Learn how to see and capture intimate detail that I may have missed before. I also wish to gain more confidence in my work and approaching those I wish to photograph, as I like to photograph people and use portraiture in my work. Further exploration of camera techniques would also help create unique styles and composition. I am enthusiastic, passionate and feel the experience alone would be an education like no other and one that would be profoundly appreciated.
