Our Adventure Ends

Jambo!

This will be the last update as our adventure has almost come to an end...still 5 hours by the pool and a lovely lunch to look forward to!!

Hope you are all well - of course we are sad to leave, but are ready to do so as we have missed being in touch with you and are really looking forward to seeing/skyping/speaking to you soon. We have so many stories and wonderful photos to bore you all with!! Get ready!!

This hotel is so lovely. Monkeys jumping all around the balcony and one jumped down and nicked my banana at breakfast!! Just been lazing around by the pool looking out at the beautiful sea view. Suitcases are in the luggage room, so off to laze around again until we leave the hotel at 3pm (1pm your time). By the time we get to Sally's tomorrow, we will have travelled and hung around aiports for about 24 hours, so we will probably be stinky and grumpy - watch out!

Won't say too much now as we will save it til we see you. Thank you for checking in with us and see you soon!

from safari to Mombasa

Jambo!!

Hope you are all well...thinking of you all and talking about you all the time!

We arrived safely in Mombasa and as you can imagine it is truly beautiful. Just had breakfast and are able to use the computer for half an hour. So, a quick review of our last few days of Safari....

Beautiful location in second lodge where we went for a boat ride on a lake to see hippos...had to be escorted to dinner in the dark as hippos right outside the lodge...and a giraffe was grazing right outside our room..yes, of course, I cried!!

Then we moved on to Masai Mara....amazing images of different lives. On safari we saw a pride of lions with 6 cubs of about 10 months old. We got up really close for some fab photos. Altogether we have managed to see the big 5, plus much much much more - incredible and breathtaking. Each place that we have stayed, there has been wildlife all around - many different monkeys on the roof, balcony and walking by.

So, here we are in Mombasa. Beautifully set amongst coconut, mango and cashew trees, not to mention the white sand! Going for a free taster of scoober diving in the pool tomorrow! Arrived late and travelled all day so we are glad to relax now..about to go and get on the bikinis and go for a dip! Mandy said she is heading straight for the pool bar, where the bar stools are in the water!!!!

As we haven't got wifi, it is doubtful that we will come and write more on the blog, but you will know when we arrive back! CRY! We look forward to sharing our million photos with you! Cannot link the camera to computer so sorry there are no snapshots for now!

Had the most amazing experience and Africa is in our hearts. See you all soon.

Hello all

this will be a quick one as WiFi keeps going..lost message last night. Only electric in morning and evening. Makes you realise how we take Thu vs for granted.

Seen rhino, elephants, lion, giraffe, numerous birds, hyena, buffalo, Babylonians, much much much more....cannot believe it.

Lodges wonderful...posh. food yummy...LOADS each day.almost sick of eating!!!

Guide lovely. Couple with us full of fun. LOADS of laughs. Had boat ride saw hippos in lake today. Off to masai Mara tomorrow.

Maybe more when we arrive. Until then, take care.thinking of u all.

Airways + Giggles

Extremely long flight with bum-numbing consequences....but exciting free food and drinks and entertainment on board! Dropped off for 10 mins before being woken by a refreshing TOWEL!! Interesting, congested streets in Nairobi even more crazy drivers than Spain! Totally shattered after virtually no sleep so total adrenaline!! Yummy lunch in posh gardens where we were so out of place and got total giggles...story to follow, then kissed a giraffe at the conservation centre!! Photos to follow at some point.

Altogether, a wonderful first day. Only 9:15 but desperate to sleep after very little in last 3/4 days and up for breakfast at 6:00!!!!! But bearable as will be chasing elephants!

London Laughs

Hello all!

Sitting in the hotel room as we have done a 'Charly' and asked for a room extension! "If you don't ask, you don't get!" Have packed, shuffled, 're-shuffled and finally packed so just chilling before the adventure begins!!

Had such a fantastic time in London with the Graduates: Charly and Dan, Big Sis and Middle Sis. Our personal tour guides took us everywhere we wanted to go and have truly tested out the camera! Covent Garden, Leicester Square, Soho, London eye, Big Ben, Camden Town, Buckingham Palace.....but even with the Middletons in town - still no Royal baby! With all our Zipping about on trains and tubes, we now totally blend with the locals!!

Wonderful sights, fabulous company and lots of laughs - you don't have to share your glasses today, Nettie! It has been an adventure already and a really special start to our BIG one. Right, think I have waffled on enough now so will say "Ta-ra" and will be in touch soon. Take care and thinking of all of you you loads.
