Like other young guys, I had crazy friends, girls, motorcycles, parties, etc. It was a scholarship to Indonesia which got me engaged with a life changing experience. <br/>I was supposed to study Indonesian in school, but I rarely attended my classes; instead, I backpacked from one island to another. It was not the lavish life style as a white guy in a third world country; but, the beauty of Indonesia, like food, landscape, traditions, etc. I learned the language and culture faster than I could’ve done in class. Specifically, I learned about myself as a maturing man. I faced a real life through once-in-a-life experience. I started capturing the experience on pictures, it has now become photography. <br/>Leaving Indonesia and my Indonesian girl was heartbreaking. But, I didn’t give it up. I moved to work in Germany to save money. And, I just married my love; I simultaneously lost my job. With my poor German, it isn’t easy to find a new one. Meanwhile, my wife is stuck in the middle of immigration procedure. Photography isn’t promising, but she encourages me to take the challenge.
