A partial life in France

For some bizarre reason that still eludes me to this day, I found myself studying in a French school, i spent 16 months there with my family before returning back to the UK. the schools that i attended were something of interest, somewhere that i could relate to the people, even if there was a minute language barrier. i worked my backside off in this school, learning, going out on trips and things like you would normally do at school, all while learning the language at the same time.
One memory that still to this day stands out is the day where i was told that id got to a good enough point with my language to consider learning Latin in my next year, this was a surprise as i still felt that i was under prepared. but looking back now, i realise i wasn't!
it was interesting as well, as we ventured across the country from the Poitou-Charentes to the Burgandy and back for the odd week or two, when i had time off to see the sights, meet friends and look round, from the city of Pipes, to Oradour Sur-La Glane near home (a desecrated town that the Germans passed through in world war 2) and i pulled a lot of memories that are genuinely just a blur of good times and outward enjoyment.
