Photos: The Concrete Jungle

Hi. My name is Ankit Bhatnagar, age 25.I am working as a pilot with Air India. I started photography at an early age and my camera was a VGA camera on my phone. Once i started earning i picked up a Point and Shoot and in the beginning of this year i barely managed to buy myself a DSLR.
My city of residence is Mumbai in India and thanks to my job i travel a lot to most of the major cities of the world. All the seasons show a city very differently. This set of photographs that I am sending to you are clicked in Manhattan New York just as the winters passes and spring comes, the people start stepping out. The sun is bright and a sense of joy and freedom is seen .
My photography consists of basic lenses and i am more of a landscape photographer. I was confused whether to give you these shots or the aerial shots. After a tough choice i chose this since these have bright and vibrant colors.
My photography apparatus still does not have everything that i need but i want to learn before i pick up real expensive gear. All my photography is based on the camera flash and hand held photography. I have learnt photography from no one. My mentor has been Experiments and Youtube. I know i am not the best out there but i want to be. Right now i am not into picture editing because i still want to get the hang of clicking right. I have seen people click awful photos and edit them to look amazing. I want to learn the art of real photography and would really appreciate if i could learn with the best. In Mumbai the more famous photographers are portrait or event types. I find myself unable to find passion in either of those.
