From Bhopal to Dharamasala

Arrived in Delhi this morning after a 12 hour train journey from Bhopal..Spent a week with my Indian friend Rakesh and his mother. Once again I was treated with incredible generosity, they'd give tya the skin off their back. They showed me loads of places in central India, from Indian style marriages to rural villages living solely on the food they grow. The food here in India is amazing, every day im trying new dishes, ll of which are amazing...the only thing is they are not having a good effect on my stomach(lets not go into that}. Bhopal is wll of the tourist trail in India, from the moment I got there didnt see 1 tourist for the duration of my stay. Glad to see a couple of westerners in Delhi for a change...Heading for Dharamasala at 4.30 this afternon on the overnight buss...meeting a girl from Ireland and her fiance who I met on the plane there..hopefully going to do yoga, cooking lessons, and a couple of treks...looking forward to the cooler weather there...45 degrees in Delhi right now!!

4 days in Delhi

After a hectic first day in Delhi I started to settle in a bit..Life is very different here..The driving is absolutly crazy, being a foreigner here is very strange..on the buses or trains people constantly stare at you..today 3 people asked if they could take a picture of me, one man even wanted my signiture..I gave him a fake one just in case he was up to no good...travelling alone I thought it would be a bit lonely...thats not the case at all, people always want to talk, although many are only after your money..some are legitimatly nice. Im currently staying with an Indian family..they are SO generous..they insisted that I take a bed while their oldest son sleeps on the couch..they treat there visitors with such respect..I find it hard to accept their generosity.. Today on the metro I asked an Indian man for Directions..we ended up becoming friends..he introduced me to his wife and friends and ended up buying me a coffee and giving me his email address..Off to Bhopal tomarrow on the 6 am train

Arriving in Dehli

Just arrived in Dehli..Had arranged for somebody to meet me at the airport...after half an hour waiting I realized that nobody was going to show up! Got a prepaid taxi to the city, was amazed at the amount of rubble and dirt that littered the pavement. The atmosphere is CRAZY to say the least! People constantly hasling you to go to their hotels, ricshaws following you around...not to mention the heat!! Thank christ I brought Sunscreen!! Have to wait around Dehli until ti\his evening to get a night train to Bhopal..looking 4ward to having somewhere to rest my head
