day 12

Today we had a early morning after traveling all the way from Sapa to Hanoi on an over night train then straight onto a plane to keep goin south to Siagon. We left our hotel around 8:30 to travel two hours away from our hotel to tunnels built buy the Vietnamise during the American War. A few sat out of going right into the tunnels to walk around as it was hot inside and all really small and dark. Here we saw fighting, dining and cooking bunkers used by the vietnamise. The design was genuis and there wasnt one person who was amazed how they constructed the tunnels with the usual three levels with also the smoke fliters and drainage systems inside of them. From the tunnels we got on our nice air conditoned bus to PHO 2000 where we had lunch. once everyone was filled up we set out to do shopping in the markets which was an experiance with the amount of people inside there selling all different kinds of produce and products.

Ben.

day 8

Today we woke up to a nice big breakfast simliar what it is like at home which was something nice. This morning we traveled into a couple of the surrounding villages where the locals were friendly but always trying to sell things to everyone but most of the time people buy a item off them where the money goes back into the local village. The veiws were stunning looking over the valleys around Sapa with all the rice terracers which our local guide chin said were bulit 300 years ago.

The weather in Sapa ranged from clear and sunny to very misty and cloudly which feels strange compared to back home in Austraila. Most people bought rain coats before we left today as down in the valley the cloud makes you quite wet.

Keep tuned to this blog!!

Ben.

day 4

Today our group had an early start after flying in last night from cambodia. We all had our money exchanged into dong and everyone is looking forward to hitting up the markets as soon as possible. Today we visted Hochi Min and the surrounding areas. It is quite cold which was a shock coming in from cambodia where everyone was sweating constantly. We all had a nice lunch but a head ache ive had has got worse but will hopefully get better.
