Fiji is a very awesome place. It's a group of 320 smaller islands that make up Fiji. As soon as I arrived on the mainland I was told to go to the islands as soon as possible as the beaches were not very nice on mainland (which was very true). So I organized to take a boat to Mana Island - as soon as we started passing other island on the way to mana I got excited — white sandy beaches seemed to be every where!
When I arrived at Mana Island the staff where really welcoming. I got settled into my room and soon was getting familiar with all the beach dogs and puppies that were there on the island.
The snorkelling was really amazing here, Fiji is one of the best dive/snorkelling spots in the world. As soon as you walk into the sea you see schools of fish everywhere. Fiji is also know for its white and black finned Sharks, turtles and mana ray which you can see when you go snorkelling off the East side of the island.
Fiji also has a ton of shells — really cool one like Puka shells which I had never seen in tack before, I have only ever seen then when they had lost their cone part in Hawaii.
Many of the Fijian still live in villages spread out through all the islands and main land and have a very traditional way of living, they are very welcoming and generally live off the land — they also respect their environment allot and for every plant that they take to use they will plant 5 more back in its place and generally use this philosophy in every thing they do.
I will defiantly be going back to Fiji at some point and would love to spend more time there exploring the islands.
Animals/insects i saw in Fiji - Geckos, Lots of cool Fish, Dogs, Bull frog ( hugh), cockroach, sea snakes
