      <title>Your Backyard - Eastfrisian Tea Party</title>
<description>Walls move me. I was always interested in the function of border-like walls in todays world. As a researcher and writer I know that they are increasingly constructed to keep people from moving from one place to another. I am now in the process of setting-up a video project that I call Facing Our Walls. It is my way to question the function of political walls. It will involve me and camera and it will produce short video portraits of border-like walls and divided cities in their social setting. It will start in Europe and I am lucky to receive some organization support from the DO School (Hamburg). With this support and my interest in walls, the content of the video series will be great. But, I am not a skilled filmmaker yet and this is were the scholarship is needed. I borrowed an old DSLR from a friend to make this video. I chose to portrait the village Hatzum because I spend the last 4 weeks here. Knowing that I will soon see walls in faraway cities like Berlin and Belfast, I tried to see the beauty in the local. Shooting was a lot of fun and I am eager to start shooting Facing Our Walls, but I also saw my inexperience and limits and would love to work on that in New Orleans. </description>
