Photos: "Go" - My Scholarship entry - A 'place' I have visited

Ever since I can remember I have been restless and pretty much interested in everything. As a kid, I wanted to be an illustrator, pilot, movie director, polar explorer, cosmonaut, painter, vet, professional basketball player, anthropologist and of course traveler. Carrying so many passions in one body, with no clue what I want to do in my life, I ended up with an MA in Sociology, Film and Cultural studies. During those years of confusion one thing has never change - my love for photography. It is my way of experiencing the world. My pretext to open myself to another human being. My excuse to observe, learn and understand. My reason to get out of my comfort zone. And when I look at my pictures I can not swear that all those events have really happened. I only know how I felt in that precise moment.

I have never received any profesional training in photography. I develop my skills by learning from others, by observing, reading, watching and of course by doing. I am always willing to expand my horizons and expose myself to knowledge.

Photos: Yakyu - My Scholarship entry - A 'place' I have visited

I'm an observer always looking for something. Mainly, as sir Arthur Conan Doyle wrote, how to: “escape from the commonplaces of existence”. Passionate and pretty much interested in everything. I'm a restless soul that has been running from one shooting star to another with no idea what to do in life. Maybe a little bit confused but ever since I can remember the conviction that one day in the most unexpected place I will find something amazing has grown in me..

Somewhere between one travel and another I noticed that my inseparable companion - a camera - helped me explore the hidden world, and perceive the beauty that bounds people, places and time.

I have never been so sure of anything, like I'm now. That amazing things I always looked for are those seconds when I'm in the right place at the right time ready to capture every fleeting moment that unfolds in front of my eyes.

Photography is a never-ending process of learning. It would be a privilege to enhance my skills and knowledge with the aid of Jason Edwards.
