I am a person who is very passionate about travel and photography both at the same time. Because I believe if you don't travel well,you cant click well. So I travel a lot through all along my country. I love the photojournalist nature of photography. I have been practicing photography since last 5 years. I now use a Nikon D 7000,Nikkor 18-105mm,Nikkor 70-300mm ,Nikkor 50mm and Nikon flash SB-700.

Even the series which I am submitting here is also based on a photojournalism story from a local dump yard.

I should be the chosen one because the I don't think any of the participants could ever think of portraying a dump yard as a PLACE. But I have the guts to visit such stinky places for the purpose of photography because I love the art from from the core of my heart. If you chose me ,You will see how deep a person can be passionate about photography and how much of hard work he can give if he gets to work with a NATIONAL GEOGRAPHIC photographer in a remote location like Amazon forests. Its like more than a dream come true for me. If you don' take me,you will only lose the chance to see my potential and tenacity. So please give me a chance and I promise you will not regret.

I am a very simple guy from Asansol,West Bengal,India. I started my journey in photography in May,2009. My dream of life is to get my snaps (atleast one) in the prestigious NATIONAL GEOGRAPHIC magazine. I dint knew much about post processing then or also dint know that NatGeo does not like post processing much. But I am so mad about NATGEO i sent my poor portfolio for considering as a photographer in NATGEO. Working on an assignment with NATGEO photographer is more than a dream come true for me. I can never imagine going to such exotic places of Greenland, with a mentor to guide me. That the priceless gift that anyone can gift me. I believe I may not be so much technically strong in the field of photography,because I have never udergone any course in photography.I am a self learner. So I have that hunger within me. I am hungry to learn from masters of NATGEO. My wild passion for NATGEO makes me different from others.I am unique because of my passion and madness. If my situations permit me in far future, I would like to open a school of photography in my locality, where I will like to tell my stories to inspire local children and youths to take up photography as a passion.

I should be chosen for the scholarship as I believe that I can bring changes in the mentality of the people with my photography. I want to make social reforms through this art form, as I feel that photography is a strong instrument which can bring changes in the society.Through this photo story, I want to raise awareness against animal sacrifices in the name of religion. Animal sacrifices have been a part of many religious beliefs. But I really don’t understand why people think that God gets pleased by such inhuman practice of killing animals to offer them to God. I would be the happiest person of this world if only a single person gets really motivated and stand against this ill-practice. Like this there are many evil things in the society, which I want to bring in front of naked eyes of every people, so that they realize and raise their voices against them. As a person, I am sincere towards my life and I want to excel in the field of photography. I am voracious learner, so I think Mr Jason Edward will be happy to get me as his student. I am a pure traveler soul, who loves to explore the unexplored and meet new people, interact with them, and if possible make them happy with my art form. I have seen that people feel comfortable in my presence, even if he/she is unknown to me, just because of my ability to make quick friends and for my friendly and frank behavior. I am full of energy and never get tired to rush to places in search of great photos. Friends say that I am crazy for photography and so do I think too. I feel the passion burning inside me and I believe that I have the potentiality to become the perfect student of Mr Jason Edward. I promise that i will work hardest to make this assignment a great success and please let me show my potential,by selecting me.
