Photos: My Scholarship entry - Embera Indians

Stemming from an abusive childhood, I sought photography as an outlet. I have been actively working as a photographer for the past eight years. I got my start by photographing the action at concerts and the beauty of nature. After falling completely in love with photography, I switched my major and I have excelled in schooling now that I am invested. I am currently a full time student at the Southeast Center of Photographic Studies. I am dedicated to excelling and creating a career that includes portraits not only of fashion, families but of various cultures and races.

On one of many family vacations, something special happened. I was able to discover a passion for various cultures and the differences in nature of countries other than my own. I photographed during an excursion at the Embera Indian Reserve. It was the discovery of a childhood, a certain innocence, that was so vastly different from mine. I hope to inspire with these photographs and explore many more cultures across the globe.
