The Bangles got it right!

All the old paintings on the tombs

They do the sand dance don't you know

If they move too quick (oh whey oh)

They're falling down like a domino

All the bazaar men by the Nile

They got the money on a bet

Gold crocodiles (oh whey oh)

They snap their teeth on your cigarette

Egypt with its political turmoil aside is a grand place to visit. Getting to places sometimes call for 'courage', the ability to be squirreled away into alleyways to see and experience the Culture during these times are humbling. Our trip took us around the sites but the real attraction was getting into Islamic Cairo; one of the poorer areas of the state

My Scholarship entry - A 'place' I have visited

Everyone looks at a diorama and says," that looks uncanny but is it true though? Is that what actually happened?" That is what the camera does - it takes you to a place most uncanny and gives you that opportunity to apply what you've learnt and pit it against something a 'nemesis' that is seductively unpredictable. It then challenges you to share your experience with someone totally indifferent to your subjective experiences; without a need to prove a point or for it to be pointless. A romantic at heart, a student constantly learning, a cultural ambassador by nature, photography is a language less spoken during the work hours but a constant companion you take with you on great experiential journeys.
