Photos: My Scholarship entry - A 'place' I have visited

My weekly ritual is bringing my film to be developed and scanned to disc at my local photo store. The anticipation and excitement I feel to see how certain shots I took worked out is intoxicating.
Photography, I live for this shit. I even dream about it. I am hungry to learn new techniques and gain new perspective on my photography as well as how I am living my life.
I currently work as a paramedic and while I enjoy helping people and working hard in an hands-on respect I dream of a life where I could travel the world and learn about different cultures, people, and landscapes through photography. I want desperately to see what else is out there in the world and I have realized I want to see the world through the lens of my camera.
I own a digital camera but I enjoy shooting analog more. I like the risk of taking one shot as well as factoring in all the variables, as if it’s a calculation, and then closing the shutter to capture my carefully constructed shot.
With all the joy and excitement that photography brings me now I’m still painfully aware of how much I still have to learn and absorb. I feel that this makes me a perfect candidate for this scholarship; I am your guy.
