It’s not that I become another person, it´s just that it brings out the best of me. Some time ago I used to keep a travel log. There I wrote, attached souvenirs, drew and even got fellow travelers, or just people I met along the way, to contribute to it. I stopped because it was difficult to find the time to update it. Instead, I found I could record my journey and my life through photography. Since then I haven´t been able to stop. Now I feel that in many ways I live through the pictures I take. My name is José María Durán, I'm Spanish, though I was born and raised in Morocco, and work as TV producer in Madrid. I manipulate images, but never produce them, except when traveling. And I want to keep travelling. The world is huge and I don´t want to miss it. I’ve travelled extensively in Europe, Asia and Latin America. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Cuando viajo me transformo. No me convierto en otra persona, sólo saco lo mejor de mí. Hace tiempo solía llevar un diario de los viajes. Allí escribía, pegaba recuerdos, dibujaba e incluso hacía intervenir a mis compañeros de viaje o gente recién conocida. Abandoné esa costumbre porque era difícil encontrar los momentos necesarios para ponerlo al día. En su lugar descubrí que podía registrar mi camino, y mi vida, a través de la fotografía. Desde entonces no he podido parar. Hacer fotos me hace vivir. Me llamo José María Durán, soy español aunque nacido en Marruecos y trabajo como realizador de televisión. Manipulo imágenes pero nunca las produzco (excepto cuando viajo). Y quiero viajar. El mundo es muy grande y no me lo quiero perder.
