Well arrived in Singapore on the 30th and spent a couple of nights staying at Sleepy Sam's in Little India. Met some lovely German girls and a nice English couple while staying there. Didn't do too much touring around the city as plan to come back through there on the way out. Booked a train from Singapore up to Kuala Lumpur and left around midday. Arrived in Kuala Lumpur about an hour after scheduled so unfortunately missed the night bus to Hatyai, also found upon arrival that my bank had cut off my card and I had no funds what so ever!

Luckily I was travelling with one of the german girls (Tony) who was kind enough to help me financially until I could speak to my bank. We booked into a dodgy little backpackers across the road from the bus station and had a few beers in their 'beer garden' - which consisted of the roof of the building with a couple of pot plants and a table with chairs.

First thing the next morning we boarded our first bus which took us to Pindang, where we changed onto the bus to Hatyai in Thailand. Had some interesting characters on the bus including a sister and brother from Hungary who were having a bit of a rough time adjusting to Asia (especially the toilets). After another day on the road we crossed the Thai border (somehow loosing the Hungarians!) and arrived in Hatyai not long afterwards. Naturally we were again too late for the connecting night bus to Surat Thani (bus took two hours longer than expected) so again found accomodation and settled in for the night.

The next morning we were up and ready to run, dashed down to the bus station and caught the 8am bus to Surat Thani. Arriving around 1pm we booked another bus to Don Sak (ferry terminal) and the ferry to Koh Phang Nga. Finally was able to call my bank and got the bank card situation sorted (thank god!).

Arrived on Koh Phang nga at 6.30pm and was met at the dock by Don, who took us out to dinner with his family and some friends. Very nice meal.

Today I hired a bike and cruised around, having a small accident and taking a bit of my leg off was a first. Not too much damage done, unfortunately scratched the bike in a few places which is not cheap as they have to replace the parts that I scratched... all in all an expensive day. But not to worry, it was only a matter of time before I got my Koh Phang nga tattoo.

Aussie trip 07

Well Australia was truly a great trip, starting off in Perth I went down to Margaret river and caught up with Cam for a few weeks. Pretty much spent the entire time on the beach breaking up things with a wine tour and a couple of weekends in Perth. Met some fantastic people (you know who you are) and generally had a ball.

From Perth it was on to Melbourne to see my little sister and spend our birthdays together, also caught up with Brydan for an afternoon. Then flew to Sydney and spent a week staying with Jols and Luke and generally drinking too much and relaxing the rest of the time.

From Sydney I trained up to the Central coast and stayed with Nicole and her family, went out for a few nights and generally had a great time catching up.

Caught the overnight bus (after missing the early morning one due to a hangover) to Byron Bay and settled in for the two nights I intended to stay.... one and half months later.

Byron was fantastic, spent most of my time Diving and annoying poor ol Ian in ways that only I could imagine. Loved diving with Nikki and Kate around Julian rocks and generally spending time with all the lovely people from the dive shop and around. Was wonderful seeing Steve and Emma again and hearing all their wedding plans.

So finally flew out from brisbane on the 30th after a nice evening out with Jo and her fiance, Ben, Hilly, Ian and his friend.
