It was this curiosity that pushed me to study journalism and international studies and propelled me to take a job as a flight attendant in order to travel on a budget while getting better at photography and videography. I have learned a lot in the past year about what makes a good documentary-style video. But I find I need a push, a mentor, to help get me past the initial stages of the learning process, to catapult me past the gap between taste and creative output, as Ira Glass has phrased it.
