I've been searching for something big to film & a story worth sharing since I found my passion. I feel "Day of the Dead" is perfect for me. I've never been out of the country to film so my mind would be open & willing to learn while capturing the events & surrounding stories.

It's been a long road losing a friend to suicide last year who I promised I would pursue my dream & a grandfather who told me not to get involved in senselessness when I was eight years old as his last words to me. To this day I have never done ANY drugs or drinking and I'm twenty-five years old.

I'm solely focused on my passion and that is filming. I was also homeless for a year. I have even written a short film & a feature film that I will film & hope to pitch one day. I've filmed a festival as a documentary (this submission is 3 minutes of a 40+ minutes film), a concert for a band's Youtube channel and some events around town. All for free because I love doing it. My mother has lost everything including her house & I share a car with my mom who is everything to me.

I also want to win this for her as well to show that all of our struggles paid off with successful entry in a sense because it would be a positive for me as a filmmaker, but I would take this opportunity very seriously. If I said I wanted this more than anyone I would be lying because I need this more than anyone with all due respect.

Please consider bringing someone alive at Day of the Dead. Thank you for allowing us a chance.
