Wieliczka Salt Mines

POLAND | Thursday, 25 October 2007 | Views [9674] | Comments [1]

I should explain, we are currently in a hotel with internet access.  Otherwise you would not get a daily update of our travelling!  haha lucky you eh! kidding!

Today we went to Wieliczka Salt Mines.  This is about 1 hour out of Krakow city.  Again, take a bus from the main bus station for 2 PLN.  Then do a tour there - for 61 PLN.  Steep but worth the money.  On a tour from the hotel and hostels, expect to pay around 100 PLN.

The salt mines are on the world heritage list.  Plus are really gorgeous.  You see silver all around with streaks and streaks of bright white salt.  They have chandeliers up which are 99% salt and so pretty!  They have many chapels within.  With one GIANT chapel which was just spectacular.  All statues are made with salt, the classic paintings like "last supper"  or the "birth of christ"  are all in Salt.  Including our past POPE-John Paul. Magnificant.  Worth the effort to go and see.

Ate some Perogi Kasatra (or something like that) -- the dumplings with mushroom inside.  Yummy and I can't wait for the dessert we have planned.  hmmm  Early night in - have tones of laundry to do.

One real positive of today - was less raining and got to finally see some blue sky again.!!!  Have found a cheap flight to ROME - so off again tomorrow -- YIPPEE

Go Skye Europe!  Photos will be uploaded asap...

Ciao for now!

He knows the people that are in charge in Aussieland from FF. He will send your cv to the right person(s) there. I know he will be positif about you because he thinks high of me. Hope you understand what I mean with that
Also tell me when you will be in Australia and the date from wich time on you want to start and have sollicitation talks. Because I can understand that you first have to do some climatisation LOL.
