Photos: My Scholarship entry - A 'place' I have visited

Everything is fast-paced nowadays, everything is moving, nothing is constant. All things, places, people are in constant motion and memories are quickly forgotten as quickly as these are captured in smart phones and fancy SLRs. I take pictures to freeze the moment. Like the photo essay I submit, where it shows children needing help. A well-lit picture is only that, if a story is not told with each shadow that plays in the background. A picture should be personal. It’s not always perfect, it’s not always awesome, it’s not always worthy of a thousand words. But if I’m able to represent the crackle of laughter as a thousand trees tickle my face, if I’m able to save the tears I shed while I lie down in the sand, then I can say that I have done my job as a photographer. Intimacy is what the world needs right now, in a world intertwined with relationships paved by social media and quick information sharing. I just want to help bring back intimacy in photography.

My Scholarship entry - A 'place' I have visited

Everything is fast-paced nowadays, everything is moving, nothing is constant.
All things, places, people are in constant motion and memories are quickly forgotten as quickly as these are captured in smart phones and fancy SLRs. Reason why I should be chosen for this Oman trip I want to take pictures to freeze the moment, to be with the people and capture the joke we told each other, save the sunset I saw while I was still in love so I can look at it again by the time I’m brokenhearted.
A well-lit picture is only that, if a story is not told with each shadow that plays in the background. A picture should be personal. It’s not always perfect, it’s not always awesome, it’s not always worthy of a thousand words. But being on this trip,my young spirit can show the beauty & richness of the country then I can say that I have done my job as a photographer. Intimacy is what the world needs right now, in a world intertwined with depthless relationships paved by social media and quick information sharing. I just want to help bring back intimacy in photography.
