And how did it all end?

How did it all end? The road trip of the summer and it's amazing memories ended just fabulously! We left Edmonton on Tuesday, August 30th and headed to Jasper! We stopped and set up camp for one night. This was going to be our last night to camp, so we didnt want to miss the opportunity since the weather was finally taking a turn for the better! It was a nice camping spot, although the Bears were wandering quite freely so we kept Abbey a lot closer than usual. On Wednesday, we woke up and headed to Kamloops! I meant to make a post then before the wedding chaos took over, but that didn't happen! We got to Kamloops and fell right into family chaos! It was glorious! As the days went on, more family showed up and we really took the time to spend it with them! Friday, September 2nd, we surprised Amanda and took her to celebrate getting married! We dressed her up, made her parade around and made sure she had plenty of drinks! Saturday, the 3rd was a day of pure wedding madness as I am sure you can imagine! Amanda was getting married the next day, and things still had to happen! But Sunday, the 4th of September came and through the madness and a beautiful wedding was had! Amanda married Stephen after 9 years of being together and we gained a new family member! The night was filled with dancing, pictures and laughter! Oh and more than one solo performance by Abbey on the dance floor! We captured every moment of the day and evening and made memories to last a life time! Especially when Abbey yelled out that her dream was to be a stripper -- oh if only she knew what that meant! LOL

Monday, the 5th, we headed home! We got home quite late and then life began again! The responsibilities of school, work, extra curriculars and lord only knows what else took hold and here we are today! Enjoying the beautiful weather on this Saturday, remembering all the fun that was had and appreciating having the time and ability to make the road trip that we did!

Thank you for following us on our adventures, it won't be the last and we love that you all can follow us in this beautiful crazy life!

Love and Peace and Appreciation,

Family and The Lake ❤️

Ahhh finally a bit of service to tell you what we have been up to!!! A few days of relaxation surrounded by family was in store for us! So despite bad weather that's exactly what we had! Friday, August 26th we woke up after a long night of rain in Drumheller and it was time to pack up! Many bites later, Megan and Abbey look like they came down with a bad case of the chicken pox and so it was time to give their bodies a rest! Haha We packed up and Abbey had to say goodbye to her new friends she met! A first for me and parenting, they asked if they could keep in contact with Abbey and text her! I truly had no idea what to do! Lol My baby was growing up and how could I say no? Haha so I set up a text app so they could text (they were from Montana so I didn't want it to cost me an arm and a leg) and Abbey was thrilled and of course feeling quite grown up! We said our goodbye to her friends, to the mosquitoes and the dinosaurs and off we headed! We had quite a few hours of driving ahead of us, and then a few extra because of constantly getting lost! Lol We finally arrived in Edmonton to stop by my auntie jacki's to grab the keys to her trailer out at the lake and then off we headed some more! A few hours later, because again, we got so lost (truly had been lost the whole day and thought I might lose it by the end lol) we finally arrived out at North Buck Lake! We were greeted by my Auntie Bev and Uncle Lorne and boy were we glad to finally be at a home base for a couple of nights! Megan met some more of my family and of course everyone loved her! We got set up in the trailer home and went to enjoy some time with family! Our cousins came up and Abbey hit it off with her cousin Cooper so well! She stayed up way too late, but mums had a great time enjoying a few drinks and many laughs!

Saturday, August 27th we woke up! The weather wasn't great but we made the best of it surrounded by family! Way better than being stuck inside a tiny tent hiding from rain and lightening haha! We relaxed while Abbey and Cooper played all day at the playground! It was beautiful! Lol A few golf cart rides made Abbey's day and then she also snuck in a quad ride as well! She was pretty thrilled!! And then another night of hanging out with family was in store and just what the doctor prescribed!

Sunday, August 28th the weather was cold and miserable and so we hid out inside Auntie Bev's the whole day to stay warm! Literally felt like winter was there! Abbey was seeming like she was going a bit crazy because she wouldn't go out into the cold and her new best friend Cooper had gone home! She was a bit of a lost soul that day but I needed one more day of relaxation so she had to just accept it! I even tried to sneak a nap in! So we finished our evening up with Auntie Bev and Uncle Lorne and then hit the hay!

And here we are today! Monday, August 29th and we left the Lake and headed to Edmonton! We met up with Aunt Jacki and had dinner and then headed over to see my cousin Mike and Abbey could meet her cousin Masynn again lol They played together which was awesome and we visited with Auntie Jacki and Mike! It was great! A weekend filled with relaxation and family!

We have officially been on the road for two weeks! So many memories have been made, everyone is still alive (although Abbey almost didn't make it today LOL) and we are excited for our last week of vacation! Not so many stops because of course we have the big finale event of the wedding this coming weekend! But tomorrow we head out again, and hopefully we will find ourselves somewhere back in BC :)

Till next time!

Love and Peace

Rainy Weather and Memories

Here we are again! Another update, more stories, memories and moments that we are excited to share with those following us on our journey! As I said in my last post, Monday, August 22nd we rolled into Canmore and stayed with my good friend Leah! Leah and I go way back to when we first moved to BC from Ontario and we were the best of friends instantly in '96! So of course, it was wonderful to finally have time to catch up since we both are now parents and living very different lives than we did when we were 11 and getting into all kinds of trouble back then! We hung out at her house and Abbey was in her glory because she got to play video games pretty much the whole day! It was too cold for her to be outside and so because she doesn't get that luxury at home we figured why not! I mean it is vacation after all! After we moved over to Leah's camper, set Abbey up with a movie and Leah, Megan and I went outside to have a fire! We chatted and chatted and it was perfect! Some friendships were meant to last a lifetime and that is definitely one! Memories that I will cherish for a long time to come!

Tuesday, August 23rd we woke up and it was still cold out. We were getting a bit concerned about Abbeys bones as she was already complaining about pain, and maybe... Just maybe, a bit concerned with our sanity too. Lol So we decided the night before that we would book a hotel room for Tuesday night in Calgary. A nice reprieve from the cold, rainy weather! I mean come on, it snowed in Lake Louise literally as we left. It was freezing up here in Alberta. Haha So Tuesday was pretty uneventful as we showed up to our hotel (a little on the sketchy side but hey, a warm bed is a warm bed!) and dropped off some laundry and swam in the pool (not the cleanest pool that's for sure lol)!

Wednesday, August 24th We had a great night sleeps in a warm room the night before and were ready to start the next leg of our trip! We were headed to Dinosaur town and quite excited for our first night there! We searched out prior to coming to Drumheller camping in Teepees. This put Abbey over the moon with excitement! So we booked it and she couldn't of been happier! We arrived in Drumheller and got our keys to the teepee for the night! It was pretty great and even better, it gave us shelter from the rain when we needed it! At the campground Abbey had two parks and was so happy! She played non stop for hours with kids and has been loving life! Megan on the other hand was being eaten alive my Mosquitos. Her entire body was just one giant bite and her body was not reacting well at all. Swollen everything lol She made the best of it with me though and had a fire in the evening since the rain held off. That night we slept in the teepee, which was exactly what Abbey had been counting down for since before we left on our trip! It was exactly what she imagined! Haha

And that brings us to today! Thursday, August 25th! We were excited to spend another day and night in Drumheller but we had to move over to a tent site! (I couldn't imagine spending money on two nights in a teepee when we had a perfectly good house in our tent for half the price hahaha) and so we had breakfast in the teepee and then moved over our stuff into our tent! We set up and off we went to check out the Tyrell Museum! Of course first we had to grab some benadryl before we lost Megan to bites! Lol We spent the majority of the day in the museum, we attempted to go on a hike of the badlands but unfortunately as soon as we got to the top of the first hill, thunder and lightening struck and tour guide said we had to head back! We made the best of it though and finished the museum and stayed dry! We loved the museum, and then headed to the worlds largest dinosaur to climb to the top of it (of course once the lightening took a break) and then Abbey relaxed in the car as we took a scenic tour around the badlands! We had to take another tiny ferry across a river again because the road just came to an end and started on the other side of water. Lol It was fun and beautiful as you will see in the pictures on facebook(when I get around to uploading them). We headed back to our campground only then to experience a crazy thunder and lightening storm that was way too close comfort. We hid out in our tent from the rain and crazy weather and made hilarious videos of Abbey! We then snuck out for dinner and now that brings me to the present! Time to curl up and say goodnight! We are off tomorrow and can't wait to share with you the memories we continue to make!

Love and Peace

It's been awhile.....

Its been awhile since I could post so we sure have a lot to update! We had pretty bad service for a couple days and then just bad luck the last time I tried to post! So hopefully this time it will work! Fingers crossed!

Friday, August 19th- We left Kelowna and we're headed for Revelstoke! We had a long day ahead of us as we decided to take the inland route! So we headed out of Kelowna and made a quick stop in Vernon for food and coffee! And off we went down highway 6.... We went through Lumby and then Cherryville and kept on going until the highway ended at the water! We caught the Needles Ferry which was a cable ferry which Abbey loved! It was a beautiful 15 minute boat ride across the Arrow Lakes with beautiful scenery! Off the ferry and back on the other side of Highway 6! We continued on our way and then made a stop in Nakusp! We thought it was a perfect opportunity to jump in the lake and grab an ice cream! How refreshing that was! After our quick little stop, we continued on our way! We were headed to Galeena Bay to catch another ferry across the Arrow Lakes to Shelter Bay! And after Shelter Bay we landed in Revelstoke! We drove a bit outside Revelstoke and stopped at Canyon Hot Springs! This was where we were going to head out for the next two days and we were pretty excited! We were camping and excited to spend a couple nights out in nature!

Saturday, August 20th - We woke up and got ready for our day! We headed to find a lake to swim in in Revelstoke! We hit the visitor centre and got a map and off we went! We found a lake and we're excited to swim! We would of preferred more space to lay down but we made do! We swam out to the dock and then just hung out there because Abbey was too scared to swim with the big fish. So it wasn't quite the lake experience we had hoped for haha but hey, we got the lake in! Haha After that, we headed back to Canyon Hot Springs and spent the next 3 hours in the mineral pools! Abbey was in swimming heaven and we were in sun and swim heaven! After swimming, we went back to the campsite for more relaxing and camp fire! Oh how soul soothing it is to be surrounded by the trees and the air. Medicine for my soul.

Sunday, August 21st- It was time to pack up again and hit the road! We were heading to Lake Louise and wanted to get there early enough to get some adventuring in! Once we got to Lake Louise, we set up our camp and realized that getting up to Lake Louise was impossible at this time! So we headed into Banff to check out the town and of course get some Banff hoodies! (Abbeys highlight for sure lol) So we spent some time there and headed back to Lake Louise! It was perfect timing, as everyone was headed down we headed up and got prime parking and walked up to check out the stunning views of Lake Louise! Truly took my breath away!!! We stepped in the freezing water and were stunned at how cold it was! Haha we actually thought people could swim in there! It was so beautiful and I fell in love!!! Sunday night we set up our fire to relax only to be greeted with rain, thunder and lightening! Into the car we piled for a very uncomfortable sleep! Haha

Monday, August 22nd- brings us to today! We drove not far to Canmore to spend some time with my good childhood friend Leah! This is where we are for the night and look forward to catching up, hanging out, and staying out of the rain! But brrrrrr it's cold here today!

Thats all for now! Will update again soon! Follow us as we try to stay dry and warm! Haha

Love and Peace

Day on The Wibit!

Thursday, August 18th we woke up to the beautiful sun and an open schedule! Our first stop was obviously going to have to be The Jammery for brunch! I remember going to The Jammery and breakfast being Megans favourite, it was a must do!! After breakfast we originally had plans to take Abbey to the Kangaroo Farm but we changed our minds! Abbey wasn't too keen on it, a very common feeling regarding all petting zoos as she can't predicate their behaviours, or the feeling. So we decided to hit The Okanagan Lake with the Wibit in mind! We didn't tell Abbey just to keep some things a surprise lol Now for those that don't know what a Wibit is, it is a glorious inflatable climbing thing for the water! There is one at Commonwealth Pool is Victoria. But this Wibit, was unlike anything we could of imagined. It was huge, with so many places to climb, slide, jump and go crazy! Every child's dream! And in the middle of a beautiful lake! Abbey's excitement was out of control and the look on her face was priceless! We got all signed up and off we went! The fun we had definitely took up the entire day with many jumps, wipe outs and even a minute of Abbey being stuck way at the top of the "glacier" trying to get the courage to jump off! Now let me tell you, watching me on that thing must of been the funniest thing in the entire world. Not very coordinated anymore, and not the best balance, boy did I fall... A lot! LOL Megan was better than me, that's for sure! Must be the dancer in her! Haha Our picture for this post is of the Wibit! After a day in the sun, we went back to our home base at Shelleys to enjoy dinner, wine and chats! Having the opportunity to catch up with someone so dear to my heart was amazing. Shelley supported Abbey and I when Abbey was a little and we were in the thick of her "autistic like behaviours" and Shelley was incredible. The support really helped me get through a trying time and it was great to share Abbeys progress with her!

This is was an incredible two days in Kelowna and today we hit the road again! Check in and see where we land next!

Water Park Fun!

After two days hanging out in Vancouver, it was time to hit the road! Wednesday snuck up quickly on us and we were off on another memory to be made! We packed up the vehicle and headed out.... But we only drove an hour! Abbeys mind was about to be blown and us parents couldn't contain our excitement! We headed to Cultus Lake Waterpark! A heaven of water slides, an experience that Abbey had yet to do! Abbey was over the moon excited, yelping and squealing and constant "what are we going to do first?!" So we hit the slides and loved it! Staying cool in the 33 degree heat and having the most fun doing it! After an incredible day at the slides, we headed out! Our destination for the night was Kelowna! We were greeted by a stunning moon when we arrived, a beautiful way to finish a day full of memories. Kelowna will be our home base for two nights while we stay with a dear friend from when Abbey was a wee little one! We've spent one night catching up, and look forward to one more! And of course, very excited for what adventures we might find here in Kelowna during our stay!

First Stop

We hit the road on Tuesday but we didn't go far! We had too many good things in Vancouver to just pass by, so we made our first stop! We drove directly to a friend, Heather, and spend some time catching up. Of course Abbey was thrilled because they could chat about stretching exercises and ideas of how to make her more flexible. After that visit, we headed over to Auntie Marg's! This was our home base for the next two nights! Abbey was thrilled as she was given more juice than she has ever experienced, freezies and ice cream sandwichs! What more could a girl ask for! Another wonderful surprise was that Savannah was there, and of course you could see that Abbey loved having little Savannah around. On Wednesday we woke up for a day of fun! We headed off to Extreme Air Park which was probably the best day of Abbeys life - next to Disneyland of course. A huge indoor park of just trampolines. It couldn't get any better! So Megan, Abbey, Savannah and I bounced for an hour straight. Up, down, sideways, and in foam pits. Literally bouncing off of walls for an hour. So much fun!!! After that, Savannah headed home and The3ofUs were off for more fun! We headed to Deer Lake Park! We rented a pedal boat and headed out to explore the lake! It was beautiful out and hot! Abbey scooted to the front of the boat and pedalled her butt off! She loved it! She worked her legs and got us quite far! After a little while of that, needless to say, we were exhausted! It was time to call it a day and head home! So off we went to Auntie Marg's for a quick visit with Sam and then a much needed night of relaxation and maybe a glass of two of wine!

Vacation has been a dream! We have soaked up every memory, every opportunity for a laugh, and every moment spent with family and friends!

Just wait till you hear what we are up to next!

And So the Adventure Begins

We have set off on our adventure! An adventure we have been planning for awhile but wasn't sure if it could materialize between doctors and specialists! An adventure that was so desperarely needed and deserved! So today, we packed up the car and jumped in and we are off! Off to experience the places in BC that Abbey or even us have never been, off to spend time with family and friends, off to experience places in Alberta that we have yet to do, and most importantly off to explore the outside, the beautiful world that we often take for granted! Follow us as we travel, experience, laugh and maybe sometimes yell "seriously abbey?!" Because we all know that happens just about every two minutes! Haha! Enjoy our stories and please do comment as I will share all of the messages with Abbey! Lots of love from The3ofUs!
