My Scholarship entry - The rise of the Cholitas

As an architect, I always looked at photography from a designer's perspective; as a complex and intricate constellation of art, creativity, technique, and feelings. While architecture brings these elements into a "livable sculpture", photography turns them into a dynamic form in which Time is the crucial dimension. It is that captured action in Time and Space which embeds a smile, a tear, a light, a word, a story, a Life... that makes every single photo a world to discover.
My passion for photography is a passion for experiences, for sharing, and above all, for learning. The Camera itself becomes a learning tool through which every new angle, and every step that takes me closer to my subject is a new opportunity to question things we take for granted, or to look at them from a totally different perspective.
Therefore, my participation in this contest is a natural continuity of my efforts to improve my photography skills, and use the camera to tell and share different stories that touch all senses, and push the observer to ask fundamental questions about our societies, our environment, and about things that matter to us.
