In 1838, my great grandfather's grandfather, DAVID RODWELL (tailor by trade born 1819 Salisbury Wiltshire England) was convicted & transported to Hobart Tasmania (VDL: Van Diemen's Land) Australia for seven years for stealing five (5) silk handkerchiefs.

David's father's name was THOMAS RODWELL. Church records indicate that Thomas was born 1778 in Salisbury, Wiltshire, England and married MARTHA ELTON (born 1786). Children of Thomas and Martha Rodwell (below). Click this link for research updates and discussion ...
