A Short Travel Documentary

My name is Ralph Lam, I'm 18 years old and I'm from Malaysia. I find that I'm always trying to learn more about the world we live in, to understand people and find meaning in their behavior, and how everyone else perceives their own lives. By doing so, I always find a bit of myself in everything I learn.

To be able to travel the world, discovering the unfamiliar and sharing the knowledge and experience through documentary filming would be one of the greatest thing I could ask for in life. I feel that I deserve this scholarship because I have financial restrictions and where I'm from does not offer much opportunities for a career in documentary film making.

The purpose of this video is to understand backpackers, because to me, they are one of the most interesting kind of people you meet in life. I did not have to travel too far from home to find them, this was filmed in Malaysia's National Park.
