    One of the images that will never leave us for the rest of our lives. A pile of shoes, many of them childrens shoes, that once belonged to those that died here in Auschwitz. Who were those people and what has the world missed out on by their premature departure? by: tk-tempany Views[506] A horrible picture. The discarded prosthetic limbs of those sent to the gas chambers. Many of these prosthetic limbs belonged to German WW1 Veterans. by: tk-tempany Views[1277] Inside one of the barracks were over 1000 people stayed at a time. Imagining the scene in this building over half a century prior made us tremble. by: tk-tempany Views[565] The remains of one of the gas chambers. The Nazis tried to destroy the chambers just prior to the liberation by the Soviets. 6 million is a number, but when we stood at the entrance of this gas chamber, it became so clear that every one of those 1 million Jews who died at this spot was a tragedy. by: tk-tempany Views[946] The endless rows of buildings was staggering.
