Life As We Live It

Falling from the Sky

So we´re walking down the street in Buenos Aries and Tyler says ¨ you know, its funny that we dont get shit on by birds more often than we do...¨ I tended to agree and couldn´t even really think of when and if I had ever been targeted by any bird...  A bit odd but we didn´t think much of it and kept walking.

It had  been raining earlier that day and we had been getting dripped on by awnings from the shops for much of the afternoon. We thought nothing of it. About an hour later, I feel a HUGE splat on the side of my face.  Thinking it MUST be more water, I flick my head to the side to get it off...it wasn´t water.  A huge, wet, thick bird terd was stuck on my arm and the remains were oozing down the side of my head.  I eeked with disgust and insisted Tyler use his hanky to get it off...immediately!!  He hesitated, but being the good husband that he is, obliged.  A shop keeper was watching and he shouted over to us with a big smile on his face...¨friends!  This means good luck!!¨ I wasn´t feeling very ¨lucky¨at the time.  I cursed at Tyler saying that he has jinxed us forever.

Two days later we´re sitting in a bus station waiting for our bus back to Buenos Aries from Iquazu Falls.  Tyler feels a HUGE, WARM splat on his neck/back.  He gets a funny look on his face and says ¨I think it got me...¨  I run over and see what looks to be water on his neck...I look closer and see that it splatted off his neck and hit the back of the seat he was on. There I saw a huge, wet, bird terd.  We laughed our heads off and again, used Tylers poor hankie to erase the madness.  After each incident we poured on gobs of hand sanitizer, thanking god for its invention. It´s come in handy more than once!

Anyway...just wanted to share our funny stories of bird shit with you. It IS funny to think that we dont get it more than we do...I guess we were each due for a good splat.  HOPEFULLY we are good to go for another 30 or so years...
