We had traveled to Peru to join a 4 day trek on the Inca trail. My girlfriend came down with severe fatigue, congestion, sore throat, nausea and lack of appetite and these symptoms progressively worsened once we arrived in Cusco. It became apparent that she would not be able to participate in the hike, and we called the trekking company to let them know but by that point, we had paid the full price of the trek.
